Ava's Starry Night
Little Ava, soft and small
You're the sweetest gift of all
Up above the moon does glow
Watching over you below
Tiny stars begin to peep
As the world falls fast asleep
Ava, wrapped in moonbeam light
Everything feels warm and bright
Silver stars begin to sing
Welcome to this gentle spring
Ava, precious, soft, and new
Every little star loves you

What does the name Ava mean?
Origin — Uncertain
Ava is one of the genuinely unsettled names. It is recorded as a short form of Germanic names beginning with the element av-, whose sense is not securely known.
Where sources disagree: The two competing accounts are the Germanic av- element and a variant of Eve (Hebrew Chavvah, from “to live, to breathe”). The popular gloss “bird”, from Latin avis, is a modern back-formation with no historical basis. The name’s 20th-century revival owes most to the actress Ava Gardner.
We follow the standard reference works on given names, and we say so plainly when a meaning is unsettled rather than choosing the prettiest one.
