A Nursery Rhyme for Rowan

A free, original lullaby written just for the name Rowan — ready to read tonight or turn into a keepsake poster.

Rowan's Starry Night

Little Rowan, soft and small,

Stars are dancing, one and all.

Silver moon so big and round,

Sheds a quiet light on ground.

One bright star above the hill,

Winks at Rowan, warm and still.

Gentle beams of golden grace,

Paint a smile on sleepy face.

All the stars in velvet sky,

Twinkle down as night goes by.

Rowan rests in peaceful glow,

While the stars their blessings show.

What does the name Rowan mean?

Origin — Irish, and the tree

From the Irish Ruadhán, a diminutive of ruadh, “red”. Separately, the rowan tree takes its name from an unrelated Norse root.

We follow the standard reference works on given names, and we say so plainly when a meaning is unsettled rather than choosing the prettiest one.

A rhyme written around Rowan

Every BabyVerse verse is built around one name and its sound, so Rowan hears their own name carried through the meter rather than dropped into a blank. That is the whole difference between a keepsake and a personalised product: the words could not be reused for another child.

Parents read it at bedtime. Grandparents and godparents frame it. Either way it is the one gift on the table that no one else can duplicate — which is why it tends to outlast everything else in the pile.
