A Nursery Rhyme for Amelia

A free, original lullaby written just for the name Amelia — ready to read tonight or turn into a keepsake poster.

Amelia's Starry Night

Little Amelia, soft and small,

The moon hangs bright above us all,

Silver beams on blankets spread,

Gently glowing where you're led.

Tiny stars begin to play,

Dancing softly through the night's gray,

Amelia rests in cozy bed,

Dreams of light around her spread.

Heaven's lanterns, warm and near,

Whisper lullabies so clear,

Amelia, precious, safe, and dear,

Sleep beneath the starlight here.

What does the name Amelia mean?

Origin — Germanic

From the Germanic amal, “work, labour” — the root behind Amalia and the Gothic Amal dynasty.

Where sources disagree: Amelia has been thoroughly tangled with the unrelated Latin Aemilia (from aemulus, “rival”) for centuries, and many sources treat them as one name. They are separate in origin.

We follow the standard reference works on given names, and we say so plainly when a meaning is unsettled rather than choosing the prettiest one.

A rhyme written around Amelia

Every BabyVerse verse is built around one name and its sound, so Amelia hears their own name carried through the meter rather than dropped into a blank. That is the whole difference between a keepsake and a personalised product: the words could not be reused for another child.

Parents read it at bedtime. Grandparents and godparents frame it. Either way it is the one gift on the table that no one else can duplicate — which is why it tends to outlast everything else in the pile.
